Bottling plant
One of the world's most advanced bottling plants
The entire process that Sip-Well crystal water runs through from source to bottle happens in our own unique bottling plant, whish is one of the most advanced plants in the world. In 2007 we invested over one million Euros in both our bottling plant and other facilities, so that they guarantee only the best and purest crystal water.
At the bottling plant we fill no less than 1,200 of our 10 litre or 18.9 litre bottles, amounting to a total of 22,680 litres of water an hour! In total we always have about 3,000,000 litres of water in circulation in 130,000 reusable and recyclable bottles.

The bottling robot places the bottles on the conveyor belt

To fill 1,200 bottles an hour we employ a highly sophisticated bottling robot. It removes 8 empty bottles from the rack and places them on the conveyor belt, while simultaneously returning 8 filled and capped bottles to the rack. A forklift truck delivers the racks to the robot, and removes them once again when the bottles are filled.
-
The decapper automatically removes the caps

Thanks to a sensor, the decapper can register whether or not there is a cap on the bottle. If a cap is still in place, it is removed. If not, or if the cap is damaged, then it is pushed off the conveyor belt. The operator checks the bottle and decides whether or not to place it back on the conveyor belt.
-
Environmentally-friendly bottle-cleaning

The bottles are placed in batches of 6 in the washing installation. Here they are rinsed and cleaned in an environmentally friendly manner. Our production source-water is always used for rinsing and cleaning. The added substances for cleaning are environmentally friendly and specially created for this application.
- Mechanical grips invert the bottles, so that any remaining water can drain out.
- The bottles are initially rinsed with pure production water in the pre-wash section.
- In the cleaning section, both the inside and outside of the bottles is washed. For this, we combine high-pressure water (6 bar) at 60°C, rotating brushes and an environmentally friendly, biodegradable detergent.
- The bottles are rinsed out twice with pure production water.
- They are then rinsed out with a disinfectant specially created for this application. And so we end up with the best bottles in the most environmentally friendly manner.
-
After further disinfection, the bottles are filled

Prior to filling them with water, we inject a small quantity of ozone (O3) into the bottle. The gas destroys and removes all harmful organisms but has no harmful effect on the environment: it naturally breaks down into oxygen (O2) within 24 hours.
Once this treatment is over, the bottles are filled with the exact amount of pure crystal water.
-
Attaching the caps & printing the production date

Once the bottles are filled, the sealed one-way caps are mechanically attached. Then the best-before date and a unique code are printed on the caps, so that every individual bottle can be traced at all times.
The strictest hygienic requirements apply for the caps. If our employees touch them they will always wear sterilised gloves.
And finally, the bottles are subjected to meticulous visual inspection under a light that exposes all possible deviations.
-
The bottling robot returns the bottles to the racks

The bottling process is completed. The bottling robot returns the bottles to the racks The sensors of the robot are set exactly to the dimensions of the racks, so that the bottles are placed exactly back in the racks and are not damaged in the process.
-
48 hour quarantines & ready to drink

A forklift truck places the racks in our "Blue-Wall" for 48 hours in quarantine. All the remaining ozone is converted in full into oxygen. And then the crystal water is ready to drink. The racks are loaded into our specially modified vehicles, ready for delivery.
Process of checks guarantee maximum hygiene and quality
-
Our crystal water is checked by both inhouse and external laboratories
Our crystal water is constantly thoroughly checked prior to the bottles being delivered to our customers. Crystal water samples are checked, every production day by 1 inhouse and 3 external laboratories. Thanks to our stringent controls there has never been a rejected sample.
-
Fanatical hygiene supervision in all our facilities
We are obsessed with hygiene and that is why we frequently check all the processes within our company. Both the bottling plant as well the maintenance and repair department are checked by our own laboratory.
After every production day the entire bottling plant is disinfected with ozone, thoroughly cleaned using environmentally friendly cleaning products and then meticulously dried. Every month the entire cycle is run through using steam. In the filling section, every possible risk of infection is avoided by erecting a sterilised curtain of air, a so-called 'laminar flow filter’, around the bottle.
Aside from our own checks, we are also frequently subjected to unannounced checks by external inspection bodies tasked with checking food safety.
-
Checking the water bottles
During the bottling process, every bottle is checked using an automatic "sniffer". Should any contaminants be encountered, the bottle is immediately taken out of circulation.
The labels, which remain on the bottles, are also visually inspected and if necessary, replaced.
Our bottling technician finally checks all the bottles once more to ensure they are all still in perfect condition. Should that not be the case, the questionable bottle is removed from circulation for recycling.
