Maintenance and repairs

10 specialised technicians maintain the water coolers

In our maintenance and repairs departments, 10 specialised technicians work on the water coolers. All the employees are trained in an external training institute so as to guarantee the highest standard with respect to hygiene and food safety.

Cleaning and Inspection Department

  • When initially washed, the components are washed mechanically at a high temperature and using high-quality detergents
  • The components are subjected to manual inspection and, where necessary, are cleaned once more
  • The components are subjected to manual inspection and, where necessary, are cleaned once more
  • All parts are then dried for 14 hours in our drying room in filtered air at a temperature of 38°C.
  • Whilst drying they are disinfected once more with UV lamps.
  • Finally, we pack the components in a sterile environment into a 'maintenance kit', together with disinfectant spray and sterilised installation gloves.

Here, all components that come into contact with water are cleaned, this being done for approximately 45,000 water coolers a year. Our technicians thereby adhere to the strictest hygienic standards.

The cleaning process consists of the following steps:

  • When initially washed, the components are washed mechanically at a high temperature and using high-quality detergents, specially developed for this application.
  • The components are subjected to manual inspection and, where necessary, are cleaned once more. If the component no longer satisfies our strict requirements, it is replaced by a new component.
  • Then the second washing process follows, also under a high temperature, and this time with a specialised disinfectant.
  • All the pieces are then dried for a period of 14 hours in our drying room using filtered arm air at 38°C. During the drying process they are once again disinfected with UV lamps.
  • We then pack the components under sterile conditions in a 'maintenance kit', together with a disinfecting spray and sterilised installation gloves. The Water Service staff can then use them the next time they must undertake maintenance.

Repairs Department

  • The water coolers are ready to be subjected to preventative inspection
  • The water coolers are disassembled
  • The water coolers are disassembled
  • The water coolers are disassembled
  • The water cooler is inspected one last time to ensure it works perfectly
  • The water coolers are packed in a hygienic manner and are ready to be reinstalled at the customer's.

A team of 4 experienced technicians subjects some 12,000 water coolers to preventative inspection for all possible defects every year. If necessary, they are repaired or updated. In this manner we are certain that all the water coolers we rent out are in perfect condition.

The repair process comprises the following steps:

  • Once the water cooler is disassembled, the components that come into contact with water are cleaned separately.
  • The cooling elements are checked and, if necessary, repaired or updated.
  • The water coolers are thoroughly washed and then dried in the drying room.
  • A day later they are once again assembled: the entire water cooler is assembled. It is hygienically packed and is ready to be reinstalled at the customer's.

In order to exclude any possible risk of contamination during transportation, the cooler is only removed from its packaging when at the customer's by our Water Service Man. He installs the cooler, which after that will regular maintenance.
